Your role as a Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer at WCC, you work in an innovative, international environment where you are challenged to develop analytical methods that bring our products to the next level, and – by doing so – to contribute to the creation of responsible artificial intelligence that truly impacts and improves the lives of people around the world.

Your daily focus will be on:

  • · Enabling our Data Analysts and Data Scientists to translate innovative ideas into workable solutions that can be deployed to on-premise and cloud (AWS) environments
  • · Translating data analysis, feature engineering, and machine learning needs into maintainable code that is supported by reliable, secure, cost-effective, and documented infrastructure-as-code for storing, processing, and accessing data
  • · Working with Architects, DevOps, product teams, and delivery teams to integrate Data Science solutions into existing and new products

Job requirements

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have a professional level of English, both written and verbal
  • Have at least 5 years of professional experience in facilitating quantitative analysis on large volumes of data
  • Have at least 5 years of professional experience with operations, monitoring, and CI/CD in the AWS cloud ecosystem
  • Have at least 5 years of professional experience with Python, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code through AWS CDK
  • Have a deep understanding of the state-of-the-art, strengths, and pitfalls of data engineering methods and techniques
  • Be experienced in facilitating robustness and scalability in environments with large amounts of imperfect real-world data
  • Have a hands-on mentality
  • Be able to think independently and act as a team player

Bonus points for:

  • A completed M.Sc. degree in a quantitative field like Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Econometrics
  • An AWS Solution Architect Professional certificate
  • Full-stack software development skills
  • A good sense of humor
